Clinical Substance Abuse Therapist

Tara serves as a Clinical Substance Abuse Therapist at Thrive, providing support to adults with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders through assessments, individual and group counseling, treatment planning, and recovery-focused care. As part of a multidisciplinary team, she is dedicated to helping clients develop the tools and confidence needed to achieve lasting recovery and improved mental wellness.

New to the Thrive team, Tara brings more than 10 years of experience in the behavioral health field. Throughout her career, she has worked in substance abuse counseling, case management, crisis intervention, and program leadership, supporting individuals facing substance use disorders, trauma, anxiety, depression, and other co-occurring mental health conditions.

Tara earned her bachelor’s degree in Human Services from Indian River State College and her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. She is currently a Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern in the state of Florida and is passionate about providing trauma-informed, compassionate care that empowers individuals throughout their healing journey.

Outside of work, Tara enjoys spending time with family, participating in faith-based activities, traveling, and pursuing creative projects. She is also passionate about developing transitional housing resources and connecting individuals with safe, supportive environments that promote long-term recovery, independence, and lasting success.
