Our Story
Originally founded in 1989 as the Substance Abuse Council and later as the Substance Awareness Center, Thrive is a resource for information and referral and has expanded the services offered as the community need has increased. We have embraced two positions, Prevention Works! and Recovery Works! Our programs are CARF accredited and state licensed.
For youth prevention, Thrive has partnered with the school district for over two decades to deliver evidence-based prevention curriculum in our schools. Thrive also offers a counseling program for adolescents and their families. In addition, we lead our community’s prevention efforts through the Thrive Prevention Coalition led by key community stakeholders.
For adult recovery services, Thrive offers licensed and accredited substance abuse treatment services including Day Treatment, Outpatient Services, and Recovery Housing. Our licensed clinicians and certified peer support specialists are trained to utilize the most current evidence based modalities in our community.
Thrive offers our community comprehensive Drug Testing Services in Indian River County utilizing state of the art equipment easily accessible to the community at at centralized location. Child welfare, court programs and businesses benefit from our services.
Thrive IRCĀ receives funding from grants, foundations, and donations as well as operating under the direction of a volunteer board of directors. General board meetings are held monthly.
